Al Gore may have been mistaken! :)

February 10, 2010

The snow let up for about 36 hours (about the same amount of time that we were w/out power.)  But it is snowing again – this time w wind gusts in excess of 40 mph – BLIZZARD!

Sitting here on my couch downstairs…the window to my right is full of snow and the drift just outside the window is at least four feet high.  This is some great weather!

The day before yesterday (the day it did NOT snow) we attempted to leave the premises in our vehicle.  We may have gotten 150 yards away before the tires spun w/o moving the car.  We tried again and again to no avail, then began the momentous task of getting the car back into the garage w/o hitting the walls or sliding into a snow bank.  We finally made it – much to the relief of grandson and bride – and have been happy to stay snowbound since!

Yesterday, Pop, Grandson, and Grandma ventured out into the latest snowfall for a sledding adventure.  The HOA has done a lousy job of clearing the roads resulting in a wonderfully slippery sledding run – we walked, ran, and sledded (sp?) down the driveway, up the road, down the next hill, up another hill, then turned around and sledded (running, walking, picture-taking) all the way home.  What fun!

And now we are comfortably ensconced in our home while the blizzard rages outside.

I have been working on my internship at The Webcast Academy and managed to upload the first task – a 45-second personal introduction.  Then, I downloaded and installed Skype; now am reading information to prepare for Task #3 – two-way online conference calling.

This page goes to a climate science spoof video and a link to an old article on the Gore effect:

You can go straight to the video here:

but you’ll miss the striking thumbnail photo and set up:

“As chief operating officer for the cabal of Billionaires who control the global warming scam, Hitler quickly realizes the long range implications of “Glaciergate”.”

Sorry if that was unwelcome, I usually read a little more before posting.
