First full month of instruction completed

September 29, 2009

My, how time flies when you’re having FUN!!  (Or, if you are a frog: “How time’s FUN, when you’re having flies!).  A full month of instruction has ‘flown’ by – in mathematics classroom at the JDC the content consists mostly of Geometry curricula; in the sciences classroom, the gamut from Earth Science to Biology to Chemistry has been the rule.

What have we accomplished in the first full month of instruction?  We have introduced 21rst Century learning via the facility/district wiki (although there has been many a raised eyebrow because of our use of this Web 2.0 tool), six (thus far) ‘new’ vocabulary words have been introduced and bandied about the  facility for inclusion in everyday language, some introduction to internet research has been conducted, and a few have experimented with Microsoft Word’s Resume Wizard and have created their first, basic resume’.
